Pinole Community Players seeks Directors for our 2024 Season.
PCP has selected the following shows for production in 2024:

• The Music Man

• Book, Music & Lyrics by Meredith Willson, based on a story by Meredith WIllson & Franklin Lacey

• Performing in March 2024

• The Directing Team has been selected for this production

• Our Town

• Written by Thornton Wilder

• Performing in June 2024

• Director Needed

• Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

• Music & Lyrics by Stephen Somdheim; Book by Hugh Wheeler

• Performing in October/November 2024

• Director Needed

Persons interested in applying to direct either Our Town or Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street are asked to provide the following:

• A Short Proposal (1-2 pages), highlighting your approach for each piece in which you are interested in directing (Our Town or Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street)

• You may submit a proposal for one or both productions

• We are looking for a high-level description of the approach you would take for the production, as well as any special technical or artistic needs you may have in mind

• We are an intimate venue (75 seats, proscenium stage), and want to hear your high-level concept for set, direction, etc. in a smaller venue

• We also want to hear why you are interested in directing either Our Town or Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

• Tell us about what interests you creatively/artistically about the show(s) for which you wish to be considered

• Also, let us know about any perceived artistic concerns you may have and how you would address them

• A Directing Resume

• Please include all information related to your Directing background (both training and practical experience)

• Please provide a history all productions you have directed/assistant directed over the past 10 years

• NOTE:  We are DEFINITELY open to speaking with candidates with little or no directing experience. As a small community theater, we feel it is important to provide opportunity to all artists, both seasoned and those starting out.

Once submissions have been received they will be reviewed by our Artistic Committee. Interviews will be scheduled in early July, as we hope to make our final decisions by July 31, 2023.
